Job description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Payroll to lead and manage our global payroll operations. This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll processes for approximately 500 employees across the US, UK, and Israel. The ideal candidate will ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while leading a team and driving continuous process improvements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, manage, and develop the payroll team, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Oversee full-cycle payroll processing across the US, UK, and Israel (~500 employees)
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll execution in compliance with local laws and regulations
  • Manage relationships with external payroll vendors and service providers
  • Review and approve payroll reports, reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory filings, and reporting requirements in all regions
  • Partner closely with HR on payroll-related matters, including month-end close and reporting
  • Support internal and external audits related to payroll
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems, and controls
  • Drive automation and standardization across global payroll operations

Requirements

  • 10+ years of payroll experience, including global payroll responsibility
  • 5+ years of experience managing and leading a team
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations in the US, UK, and Israel
  • Experience working with global payroll systems and third-party providers
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Experience in a multinational or high-growth company
  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as Hilan and Sequoia.
