The Opportunity
We’re looking for a motivated Global Operations Manager to join Flexport’s Europe BQI (Booking, Quoting, and Invoicing) team. This role is key to improving shipment and client-level financial performance while shaping the future of logistics. You will work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where process improvement, standardization, and automation are at the core.
What You’ll Do
- People Management: responsible to manage and develop a team of individual contributors, establishing clear growth paths and challenging opportunities for team members.
- Governance and Controls: manage internal and external requirements to maintain a high bar in safety, security and supply chain compliance.
- Process/Domain expert: subject matter expert in your area of responsibility, acting as the go-to person to develop process improvements or experiment with new ideas/products.
- Problem Solving: use data and other insights to problem solve and continuously improve at scale.
- Short-term planning: plan labor and capacity on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and responsibility to work with partners and procurement/contract staffing to solve immediate needs.
- Operational Excellence: identify and monitor process defects that inhibits team members to execute to quality, cost and service goals and works towards reducing defects.
- Operational Controls: run weekly stand-ups for planning, communication and feedback cadences.
- Financial Controls: sufficient finance controls to eliminate revenue and cost leakage.
What You’ll Bring
- 3-5 years leading a team of people in the services industry at department or shift level.
- Business degree in Supply Chain or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record in delivering results in cost, quality or service delivered.
- 5+ years experience in cross border supply chains and logistics and/or freight forwarding.
- 2+ years in customer facing roles.
- Proficiency in speaking and writing English (and ideally spoken/written language skills for countries in your region).
- Qualified in lean principles, six sigma or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience in data analytics and programs such as SQL or equivalent is a plus.
