Guild is hiring a FP&A & Accounting Intern. This summer internship sits at the intersection of finance and emerging technology. The Summer Intern will support Guild's Finance organization across two primary areas: implementing and testing AI-powered workflow automations across accounting and FP&A functions, and providing hands-on finance operations support across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger close activities. This is a cross-functional role reporting into the VP, FP&A and partnering closely with the Accounting team. The intern will gain direct exposure to real-world financial operations, AI tooling, and helping Guild move toward a future where core finance and accounting tasks are meaningfully automated.

As a FP&A & Accounting Intern, you will:

AI Workflow Implementation & Testing

  • Map and document day-to-day accounting and finance workflows across GL close, accounts payable, and FP&A processes to identify automation candidates.
  • Implement workflow automations using Claude and other AI tools, translating manual processes into AI-assisted or fully automated sequences.
  • Design and run structured test cases to validate AI-generated outputs against expected accounting results, flagging discrepancies and iterating on prompt or workflow design.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and FP&A to prioritize which workflows have the highest impact and are most ready for automation.
  • Stay current on AI tooling capabilities and surface relevant opportunities to the team.

Finance Operations Support

  • Code and process vendor invoices in NetSuite, ensuring proper GL account assignment, cost center coding, and approval routing.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions on an ad hoc basis, including payment runs, cash application, reconciliations, and aging report reviews.
  • Assist with month-end and quarter-end general ledger close activities, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Provide operational support wherever lower-lift accounting tasks arise across the team, including expense processing, accruals, and documentation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Accounting and FP&A team members to ensure data consistency between actuals and forecast.

You are a strong fit for this role if you have:

  • Rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles (debits/credits, journal entries, financial statements, AP/AR processes).
  • Demonstrated interest in or experience with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar; curiosity and comfort experimenting with new technology is essential.
  • An analytical mindset with strong attention to detail; able to review large data sets and identify discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable asking questions and synthesizing findings for a non-technical audience.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment.
  • A team-oriented attitude and willingness to support wherever the business needs help.

Preferred Competencies

  • Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Prior coursework or internship experience in accounting, finance, or a related business function.

We are committed to equal pay for equal work and believe in compensation transparency. All salary ranges are standardized nationwide and will not vary by region. This role offers a competitive hourly rate of $25/hr. Compensation offered will be based on a combination of factors such as experience, competencies, and internal equity.

Posting Date: April 27, 2026

This role will be open for a minimum of 1 day.
