About the Role

As we transform our products into a unified platform, Platform Science is seeking a talented Application Architect to lead the evolution of our workforce compliance solutions, with a special focus on Tachograph data. This critical role is for a technical leader who will take ownership of re-architecting products, data streams, and interfaces to be more scalable, maintainable, and seamlessly integrated with our EU portfolio. You'll be a key driver of technical excellence, working across multiple development teams to guide our codebase and align product architecture with our global vision. This is a full-time position located at our Leuven office, with a hybrid work model.

Essential Responsibilities

• Architectural Design and Evolution:

  • Design and lead the implementation of new architecture for existing products, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and integration.

  • Ensure the technical design of new features is fit for purpose and built to last.

  • Drive re-architecture by identifying and addressing key issues related to scaling, performance, security, and compliance.

• Collaboration and Governance:

  • Coordinate with the platform enterprise architecture team to ensure product architecture aligns with the global platform vision.

  • Work with multiple development teams and product owners to ensure architectural alignment and prioritize technical tasks.

  • Guide tech leads and developers to ensure they understand and comply with the designed architecture.

• Quality and Process Excellence:

  • Improve code quality, stability, and scalability across products.

  • Define, document, and champion best practices, guidelines, and coding standards.

  • Conduct peer reviews of pull requests with a focus on code and design quality.

  • Lead training and retrospectives to ensure developers understand and comply with the architecture.

Experience

• Required experience:

  • 5 - 10 years of total experience in a technical role.

  • Experience with Agile and DevOps software development methodologies.

  • Knowledge of Node.js and Java.

  • Fluency in English is required; French knowledge is strongly recommended.

  • Must have a Belgian work permit, residency, and a driver's license.
