At Stoke, we believe that a thriving space economy leads to a vibrant, sustainable, and equitable future here on Earth. That is why we are building our fully and rapidly reusable vehicle, Nova. It is designed to fly daily and solve the core challenges of space transportation – it reduces cost, increases availability, and enhances reliability. By radically lowering the cost and increasing the cadence of launch, we’re able to create a truly scalable space industry.

Our team is mission-driven, collaborative, and empowered with ownership of their work. If you want to work with some of the most dedicated and talented people on Earth, come join us.

Reusable systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space.

Stoke is building the next-generation infrastructure for space – and the world needs to know why it matters. We’re looking for a Director of Brand & Marketing to take full ownership of how Stoke shows up to the world: our voice, our vision, our visuals, and our story. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, sees the big picture, and has the taste and grit to execute.

At Stoke, brand strategy means owning our identity – why we exist, how we differentiate, and how that story is carried through every touchpoint, from website to investor decks to mission campaigns. This is the core of the job. Everything else (e.g., content, visuals, campaigns) is a means to that strategic end. You will shape our brand strategy and own its execution, distilling technical progress into powerful narratives, creating clear and consistent messaging, and making Stoke impossible to ignore.

You’ll work closely with the executive, engineering, and business development teams to turn technical progress into sharp public-facing narratives. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional command of brand strategy, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration
  • 6+ years of experience in brand, marketing, or strategic communications roles
  • Strong writing and editing skills; ability to distill complex technology into compelling narratives
  • Hands-on experience with creative tools like Figma, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience building or maintaining websites and digital brand assets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Define, own, and execute Stoke’s brand strategy. This is the primary responsibility. It includes refining our purpose, positioning, messaging pillars, visual identity, and voice, and ensuring those elements are applied consistently across all channels and audiences.
  • Build and maintain brand assets: website, templates, visuals, and diagrams
  • Translate technical milestones into clear, engaging narratives
  • Write and ghostwrite blog posts, positioning docs, and social content
  • Lead campaign rollouts for product updates, launches, and contracts
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, BD, legal, and leadership
  • Coordinate with external content vendors only where necessary

Benefits

  • Equity – We know that our employees are the reason we succeed. To give everyone a stake in our future, we are pleased to offer equity in the form of stock options to all regular, full-time employees.
  • Comprehensive benefits program including subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-paid life and disability insurance
  • 401(k) plan with employer match
  • 4 weeks’ Paid Time Off
  • Holidays – 10 days (including an end-of-year closure)
  • Paid Family/Parental Leave
  • On-site gym or monthly wellness stipend (depending on location)
  • Dog friendly offices!

Compensation
