Description

We are seeking a Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Test Engineer at our Kent site, you will be responsible for collaborating with other engineers and technicians to test rocket components, design and build test facilities rapidly, as well as operate and maintain them efficiently once they are up and running. You will work with hardware and software, mechanical systems, fluid systems and electrical systems. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and building fluid, mechanical, data acquisition and control systems for various test applications
  • Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems for various test applications
  • Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting vibration tables, thermal chambers, and thermal vacuum chambers
  • Enabling development, qualification, and investigative testing of Stoke components
  • Designing hardware systems in CAD
  • Writing test procedures
  • Performing hazard and test data analysis
  • Safely operate high pressure and cryogenic systems

Qualifications

  • Exceptional command of engineering fundamentals
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or similar
  • 8+ years experience in a design and test environment
  • Experience with high pressure and cryogenic environments
  • Experience with data acquisition and control systems
  • Passion for building something with high quality, willing to attend work with a positive and humble attitude, and willing to take ownership of large and small tasks to help the team be successful
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Willing to relocate to Seattle, WA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building data acquisition systems
  • Experience creating P&IDs
  • Experience writing and operating test procedures
  • Experience designing fluid systems
  • Experience designing hydraulic systems

The Physical Stuff

  • This is a hands-on role. You’ll need to be comfortable bending, crawling, and stooping throughout the day, and you should be able to lift 25 lbs. on your own.

Compensation

Target Levels:

  • Level 3 Range: $129,150 - $193,620
  • Level 4 Range: $151,305 - $252,105

Your actual level and base salary will be decided based on your specific experience and skill level.

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
